The coast has long been known
for its ceramics, and the area at Piazza del Duomo
is filled with "regional" ware . But
the real ceramic is still made at nearby Vietri
sul Mare, 13km (8 miles) west of Amalfi. The pottery
made in Vietri is distinguished by its florid
colors and sunny motifs.
In Amalfi itself, look for limoncello,
a sweet lemon liqueur that tastes best chilled.
It's manufactured in town by the Valle dei Mulin
factories.
